Findings

This patient comes in complaining of shoulder pain after a football game.

  1. Can you determine what type of injury the patient suffered?

    Shoulder dislocation

    Correct! The humeral head is displaced anteriorly and inferiorly. It is no longer articulating fully with the glenoid fossa of the scapula.
    Clavicle fracture

    Incorrect. The clavicle is intact and without fracture. Try again!
    Humerus fracture

    Incorrect. The part of the humerus visible on this x-ray is without fracture. Try again!
    Rib fracture

    Incorrect. All of the visible ribs here are without fracture. Try again!
